Kyle recorded 18 albums over 30 years. He progressed from a 45 single to albums and 8 tracks to cassette tapes, with his last two albums released on CD.
Album #1 included most requested songs by fans and was recorded with the Company Cowboys. Album #2, also recorded with the Company Cowboys, contains Kyle's first recorded original work, "Lonely Tears."
Album #3 included four of his original works and was recorded with the Company Cowboys at the time, Brian Bergeleen, lead guitar; Lennis Fagerhaug, bass; Dale Schimke, drums; and Brian Larson, violin. Bill Crist served as sound engineer. This album was recorded entirely in their own studio in Wessington Springs, South Dakota.
Later albums included more of Kyle's original works, along with traditional cowboy and western musical poetry. All were recorded in Nashville.
